11am So You Think declared as on-target for Arc de Triomphe
Tony Paley: Trainer Aidan O?Brien has ended speculation concerning So You Think by announcing on Thursday that his Irish Champion Stakes winner is to be aimed at next month?s Prix de l?Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp.
The ex-Australian champion has won four of his five starts this term after switching to the care of the Irish handler. So You Think will be stepping up in trip to a mile and a half for the October 2 race, having beaten Snow Fairy at 10 furlongs in the Irish Champion at Leopardstown last time out.
While the five-year-old ran over two miles when third in last year?s Melbourne Cup, he has yet to race over the Arc distance of 12 furlongs.
?So You Think is in great form and all being well with him, the plan is to run in the Arc given reasonable ground conditions,? O?Brien told http://www.coolmore.com.
So You Think, an eight-times Group One winner, is a best-priced 6-1 with Coral for the French prize.
Tipping competition, day four
Xwireman edged into the lead by picking The Bells O Peover (5-1), while chris1623 had a winner, Lay Time (4-1), at slightly shorter odds. Zzz62zzz moved into a distant third with a nice double, pairing The Bells O Peover with Colour Scheme (11-2). Orso had The Bells O Peover and Lay Time.
Today, we?d like your tips, please, for these races: 3.50 Ayr, 4.00 Pontefract, 5.10 Yarmouth.
This week?s prize is a copy of Gamble, the new Dick Francis novel, written by the late author?s son, Felix. Published this month, the book tells the tale of a jump jockey whose life is plunged into mystery when a friend is shot dead before the Grand National. Fans of Francis may recognise one or two familiar themses there
As ever, our champion will be the tipster who returns the best profit to notional level stakes of ?1 at starting price on our nominated races, of which there will be three each day up until Friday. Non-runners count as losers. If you have not joined in so far this week, you are welcome to do so today, but you will start on -7.
In the event of a tie at the end of the week, the winner will be the tipster who, from among those tied on the highest score, posted their tips earliest on the final day.

Good luck!
