Someone's UFC "O" will have to go when Jorge Masvidal and Rustam Khabilov lock Lightweight horns in November.
Jorge Masvidal will make a swift return to the Octagon when he takes on Rustam Khabilov in a Lightweight mixed martial arts (MMA) match planned for a yet to be announced UFC on FOX Sports 1 card in Nov. 2013, according to a report from Ariel Helwani on FUEL TV's "UFC Tonight."
No location or venue for the event is known at this time; however, it is expected to air live on FOX Sports 1 network on fight night.
Masvidal is fresh off a submission win over Michael Chiesa this past weekend (July 27, 2013) at UFC on Fox 8, locking up a crafty d'arce choke with just one second remaining in the second round. It marked his second consecutive Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) victory since coming over from Strikeforce earlier this year.
Not to be outdone, Khabilov, too, is perfect (2-0) inside the Octagon since his promotional debut in late 2012. "Tiger" destroyed Vinc Pichel at The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 16 Finale and followed it up with a technical knockout of Yancy Medeiros at UFC 159 back in April when "Frisson" could no longer continue because of a gruesome dislocated thumb (see pic here).
It's definitely and interesting match up between two tough fighters who are looking to make names for themselves in a very crowded -- and established -- 155-pound division.
