PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Gas prices have gone up another eight cents in Rhode Island in the past week.
AAA Southern New England reported Monday that the average price of regular gasoline in the state is $3.74 per gallon.
The state's average price is 21 cents higher than a month ago and 16 cents higher than the current national average of $3.58.
The increase this week is smaller than last week, when prices jumped by 12 cents.
Rhode Islanders were paying an average of $3.58 for a gallon of regular gasoline a year ago.
