Position Description:


The Retail Sales Manager II has responsibility for leading the retail consumer and small business efforts of one to three branch offices in a similar market. They are responsible for ensuring the success of First Citizens across all lines of business through collaboration with partners to generate referrals. This role will execute on a sales and business plan, coach sales associates to improve performance, and represent First Citizens in the market they serve. The Retail Sales Manager will individually contribute to branch goals by selling deposit, loan, ancillary products and work with other business line associates to meet customer financial goals. They will be focused on the Retail Delivery Strategy routines, developing associates sales and service skills and developing local market activity plans that address local market opportunities and threats. They represent First Citizens in the local community, through personal and branch participation in business associations, and community functions. This role has overall responsibility for the delivery of superior customer service, operational integrity, and adherence to bank policy as well as all Federal and State regulations within their respective branch.





Primary Responsibilities:


Sales and Sales Management
? Develops and integrates specific market and tactical plans for retail consumer and small business that will achieve the overall business plan/budget
? Co-ordinates and integrates sales plans for multiple branches to achieve overall business plan
? Allocates resources provided by the bank to achieve optimal performance
? Regularly reviews branch performances, ensuring tactical plans are modified to close gaps and act on opportunities
? Develops associates sales and financial advice skills, ensuring development plans are in place and being acted on
? Routinely conducts sales meetings and coaches salespeople to improve capability and sales results
? Conducts regular observations and one on one review of both activities and results with each direct report
? Assesses associates overall performance on a quarterly basis, ensuring action plans is in place for any developmental opportunities
? Acquires and expands relationships with consumer and small business customers by selling and referring the full range of bank products and services
? Achieves personal sales targets by effectively executing on tactics and routines
? Role models exceptional sales and service skills and behaviors

Operations/Risk
? Ensures the implementation and ongoing management of people, credit, and operational risk policies and procedures
? Is responsible for overall budget management including salaries and FTE management
? Is responsible for the attraction, retention, development and deployment of human resources within the market
? Ensures the management of top performers and mitigates associated retention risks
? Ensures the management of low performers ensuring performance improvement plans are in place and human resources is engaged
? Is responsible for interpreting, communicating and ensuring the ongoing execution of initiatives and procedures
? Ensures associates act within delegated authorities and adhere to applicable policy and procedures (i.e. lending limits, waived fees, loan and deposit pricing discretion)
? Ensures associates adhere to all new account opening policies and procedures
? Ensures associates are collecting fees as per policy and procedure and exceptions are kept to a minimum
? Ensures associates are documenting loans correctly and in a timely manner and are adhering to all lending policies and procedures
? Ensures associates are conducting appropriate follow up of past dues, losses and charge offs are within acceptable levels
? Ensures loan portfolio under the markets administration is maintained and all exception and profit targets are met
? Ensures associates complete annual Privacy, Bank Secrecy Act and Anti Money Laundering training and assessments and adhere to all policies and practices contained within
? Ensure all associates adhere to bank policy and regulatory requirements

Customer Service
? Implements Customers First guidelines, practices and routines
? Regularly reviews market and branch performance and uses best practices and tips from CSP to close gaps and act on opportunities
? Regularly utilizes information from post episodic surveys, mystery shopping and observations to tailor service to local market
? Regularly conducts onsite visits to branches to assess the look and feel of the service delivery
? Builds strategic relationships with industry/business groups and maintains a high profile in the local market

Teamwork
? Interprets and communicates the corporate vision and assists individuals in understanding how their individual priorities, goals and deliverables impact corporate and market objectives
? Ensures associates are working together within the branch, between branches and with home office associates
? Works closely with partners in Commercial, Private Banking, Investor Services and Trust to deliver complete customer banking solutions
? Assists other lines of business through branch and sales associates focus on referrals
? Shares best practices and successes within the branch, market, division and bank to further the success of all colleagues
? Acts as a peer coach to colleagues
? Ensures good lines of communication exist within branches, market, division and bank providing feedback to specific areas when improvements are recognized
Position Requirements: ? Minimum of 5 years experience in a sales, business development, customer relations, supervision, and/or lending capacity
? Excellent knowledge of retail banking products/services
? Ability to manage motivate, lead, and coach an effective sales team
? Excellent oral and written communications skills
? Ability to positively represent First Citizens through community involvement
? High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
? Computer skills to include Microsoft Windows
