Children With Cancer Meet Bone Marrow Donors Who Saved Their ...

Ryan Compton poses for pictures and runs around with boundless energy.

At 8-years-old he is a healthy and happy boy, but for the majority of his life that wasn?t the case.

Ryan was sick for 5 and a half years.

At just 22 months old Ryan was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

After 3 and a half years of chemotherapy, a relapse, and intense radiation, it became clear a bone marrow transplant was Ryan?s last hope.

Despite slim odds, a man living thousands of miles away in England provided Ryan with a perfect match and a chance at a healthy life.

Today, Ryan?s family got a chance to thank him in person.
