(AP) ? Nick Saban says there's no magic formula to winning big games.

Saban and No. 2 Alabama are gearing up for Saturday night's visit from top-ranked LSU with the winner keeping an inside track to the national championship game.

Saban says such games typically come down to execution and turnovers.

The Tigers are seeking their first 9-0 start since 1973 in the much-hyped game. Both teams had open dates last weekend to extend the buildup and each have won a national title over the past five years.

It's the first 1 versus 2 SEC matchup outside the league championship game. It's only the 23rd time it's happened in the regular season since the AP poll began in 1936.

Says Tide noseguard Josh Chapman: "We live for games like this."
